FNV is the federation of unions in the Netherlands. FNV exists of 16 independent unions that are active in almost all kind of sectors in the Netherlands. In total FNV has 1.2 million members.
FNV is active at all kind of aspects and levels (individual and collective) related to working conditions, health and safety. Professional negotiators and advisors help employees getting better salary, retirement, education, working environment en lots more. At most, agreements of these items are registered in a legal collective labour agreement.
More than 2 million employees in the Netherlands are working at companies which have made a collective labour agreement with FNV.
FNV also helps members on individual level with problems related to work like conflicts with employers, discharge or getting a financial compensation in case of an accident at work. FNV has established a foundation called Bureau Beroepsziekten that helps members to get a financial compensation when they have an occupational disease caused by bad working circumstances.
The goal of the FNV of the project Nanocap is to improve the understanding of possibilities and more important the health risks of nanotechnology to inform our members. We want to develop recommendations to be followed by employers and public authorities so the health risks of the employees are decreased as far as possible.
