ppm
ppm is a multi-disciplinary research and training association focusing on occupational health and safety issues and on the working environment. ppm is supporting and advising policy makers, companies, organisations, and individuals working on the improvement of working conditions and of the working environment.

The staff of ppm is committed to a science based approach and represents qualifications both from technical science and social science backgrounds. The core team can draw on a network of qualified partners, particularly in occupational medicine. All ppm members do have teaching experience. Since ppm was founded in 1988, its main emphasis lies on the improvement of working conditions and health promotion in the workplace.

ppm’s  legal form is that  of a private association formed under Austrian law. ppm is a politically and economically independent non-profit organisation, with resources for its activities coming from project grants and fees for consulting and other services provided to public and private organisations. Good relations are being maintained with the Austrian Workers’ Compensation Board (AUVA), the Labour Inspectorate, trade unions, the Austrian Chamber of Labour, the employers organisations, the Linz Occupational Health Service (AMD Linz) and the Linz Academy of Occupational Medicine and Safety.

International cooperation: ppm is the Austrian counterpart of the European Work Hazards Network. ppm has built up various links to scientific and OHS organisations in many parts of Europe.

Within the Nanocap project ppm intends to support knowledge based decision-making and policy making within Austrian institutions and organizations, particularly those representing workers with respect to occupational health risks and ethical aspects.
